The day starts with the sun shining on us. Not the strong sun where you need to wear your sunglasses but still nice. The weekend is coming up and that means the trip to Montreal is coming. My aunt is coming there…yay!! gonna meet up with Cinga and just hang out with her

Saturday annouces to be fun day because we have inuit feast in Lachine. We get to eat food that was brought south by Air Inuit and First Air. We are lucky to get country food in Montreal.

Thank you to all the people who send the food. Thank you to all the people who volunteer their time to prepare the food and the place for us to eat these wonderful foods. Nakurmiik!!

Last night there was so much lightning and thunder. When there is lightning we usually see long line of light, I didn't even see that because it felt the lightnings were on top of our house. The lights in the house felt like they went off but for like fraction of a second. This morning I heard on the radio that some cities in Quebec city have no electricity because of the thunder storm. 4000 customers lost electricity and 3200 of them are gettting their electricity back this morning. The temperature is not hot anymore and it's windy.

 Hier soir, il y avait beaucoup de tonerre. Quand il y a la tonerre on voit habituellement des lumières en ligne, je n'ai même pas vue ça, il semblait que la tonerre et l'éclairage étais en dessus de notre maison. Les lumières dans la masion semblaient de fermer pour une fraction de seconde. Ce matin j'ai entendue à la radio qu'il y a quelque ville à Québec qui n'ont pas d'électricité a cause des éclairages. 4000 abonnées n'avaient pas d'électricité, 3200 allaient avoir l'électricité ce matin. La température n'est pas chaud et il vente maintenant.

Une journée chaude et humide au mois de juillet à Québec, donne le goût de retournez dans le grand nord parce qu'il fais moin chaud au nord. Les journées pas de vent à Québec sont très chaude mais les journées de même sont encore pire à Montréal. Voici la bonne nouvelle que je voulais vous dire. lol!!

A hot and humid day in Quebec city makes you want to go back up north because it's cooler there. Days without wind in Quebec city are hot but days like this are worse in Montreal. That is the good news I wanted to share with you. lol!!

My ayak and friend Mary Baron is visiting us with her boyfriend Charlie and their two boys Daniel and Matthew. The boys love swimming and would stay in the water all day if they could but we sometimes have to go shopping…lol!! We will go to La Ronde tomorrow Wednesday and they leave to go home on Friday. It's a short visit for us but a long one since they are missing good high tides meaning clam digging back home. Ah well, there is always the next high tides in two weeks. 

Ma tante et amie Mary Baron nous visite avec son chum Charlie et leurs deux garçons Daniel et Matthew. Les garçons aiment bien nager et ils peuvent rester dans l'eau toute la journée mais des fois il faut sortir pour aller magasiner…lol!! On va partir demain Mercredi pour aller à La Ronde et ils vont partir à la maison Vendredi. C'est une petite visite pour nous mais pour eux un peu long parce qu'il manque les marié haute dans le village, ils manquent la semaine de palourde. Ah il y a toujours la prochaine fois dans deux semaines quand les mariés vont être plus haute.

My mom Christina and my sister Saniliayuk were visiting us for ten days. We went shopping, swimming, went to Montreal just for one day to shop there. Both were missing home and my mom said 10 days is too long to be away from home. lol!!

Akilasakallk was it's name before everybody moved there and we became sedentary. As a student going to school in French, I learned that it was called Port Nouveau Quebec. Not long after it was called George River. The official name is now Kangiqsualujjuaq.
